Looking for beach house interior design ideas that go beyond blue and white? Think sea-green tiles, striped chairs and a bedroom with a pale aqua canopy.

These rooms give you plenty to work with, whether you’re planning a whole space or just changing a few little details.

You can keep things simple or go all out with color. I especially love the shelving ideas here.

From shell displays to a spot for surfboards, there’s plenty to save for your own beach house interior.

Beach House Ideas Worth Saving

white seating and a leaf-shaped tray

We’re starting off strong with this pretty white sectional and chunky coffee table. I love the oversized leaf-shaped tray.

The cream pillows and loosely draped throw keep the colors nice and simple.

Try one large tray on your own table instead of lots of little decorations.

navy stripes and coral pillows

How cute is this striped seating? The navy and white look so good with those coral-colored pillows.

Even the starfish on the wall gets its own spot between two gold-tone lights.

If you want to follow this look, add pale flowers in clear vases to the center table.

oversized pendants and pale blue tiles

I am obsessed with these two big pendant lights. Their open patterns are so pretty above the pale island, especially with the three woven-look stools underneath.

The light blue backsplash is another detail worth saving. Try a similar shade if you want a little color alongside white cabinets.

exposed beams and blue pillows

This ceiling may just be my favorite one so far. The brown beams stretch across the white pitched ceiling, with a black chandelier hanging in the middle.

Below, white sofas face a rectangular table with baskets underneath. Bring in pale blue pillows and matching lamps if you want to borrow the room’s color scheme.

a little reading corner

The rows of beige and cream book spines are such a pretty backdrop for this reading corner. A white armchair and chaise sit right in front of the shelves.

I love the round pouf with a little stack of books on top. A tan accent pillow is a lovely addition to the white seating.

navy bunks and patterned pillows

These navy bunk beds are just too cute. The matching ladder, blue covers and mix of patterned pillows give you plenty of ideas without adding lots of different colors.

The little wall lights beside the beds are worth noting too. Keep the surrounding walls white if you want a similar look.

a low table and beach artwork

Don’t want to go overboard with beach decorations? No problem!

This white sectional has just one tan pillow among the pale ones, with a large beach picture above it.

I love how low the rectangular coffee table sits. A round tray and a few small objects are all that’s on top.

aqua tiles and a matching basin

How gorgeous is this aqua bathroom? The shower tiles, bowl-shaped basin and long patterned runner all bring in that blue-green color.

The oval mirror and hanging lights are pretty details too. If you’re only changing accessories, try an aqua towel and runner rather than redoing the whole room.

an open loft with blue accents

If you are looking for a room with lots to take in, then this one is for you. There’s an upstairs sleeping area, a kitchen below and a curved white sofa in front.

I especially love the round coffee table and pale blue pillows. Repeat a little of that blue upstairs, like the bedding shown here, to follow the same idea.

a brown lattice bath mat

Sometimes it’s the smaller details worth saving. This rectangular brown bath mat has an open lattice pattern that stands out against the gray floor tiles.

If you like this look, check that your chosen mat is intended for wet bathroom use. Appearance alone won’t tell you how much grip it has.

shells and bright blue vases

The shell lovers are going to love this! White shells sit beside blue books and bright blue vessels, with uneven brown shelf edges running between them.

Try placing a shell on a short stack of books like the ones here. Leave a little empty space around your larger pieces rather than filling every gap.

rounded edges and sandy colors

Don’t want blue in every room? This sandy-colored bathroom is a pretty alternative.

I love the tall arched mirror and the rounded top of the shower partition.

The basin has an irregular, speckled edge. Folded towels on the open shelf below keep the vanity styling simple.

a navy wall and long bench

This is another way to bring navy into your home, but it’s a little different from the striped seating above. A dark blue wall sits behind a long bench and a large abstract print.

The round navy pouf is my favorite part. Try a pale pillow on the bench to copy that small detail.

blue dining chairs and paired pendants

I love these pale blue dining chairs with their tan frames. The two open-sided pendant lights are just as pretty above the long table.

You don’t need lots of table decorations to follow this look. Try a pale vase with a few feathery stems on a shallow tray.

a sunroom with pale blue seating

Who wouldn’t want to sit and look at that view? This sunroom has tall windows, sloping roof glazing and pale blue cushions on the brown seating.

The pink flowers add a lovely bit of color. If you’re decorating a similar corner, a patterned rug in muted blue could bring the seating area together.

terracotta tones and a simple fireplace

If you’re looking for something a little less nautical, save this room. The reddish-brown floor and brown plank ceiling surround a plain white fireplace structure.

I love the pictures leaning along the low ledge. Try mixing a larger print with a couple of smaller frames instead of hanging everything.

a pale aqua canopy

I am obsessed with this canopy bed. The pale aqua panels are tied back around the bed, with matching pillows and a blue-green throw below.

The baskets at the foot of the bed are such a cute extra touch. Keep the bedding mostly white and beige if you want that same gentle mix of colors.

open shelves and blue-green jars

This kitchen shelving is so pretty without being packed with decorations. White dishes fill much of the lower shelf while blue-green jars sit along the top.

Try grouping your plates in stacks and keeping similar jars together. I’d also borrow the little row of plants on the counter.

a spot for surfboards

Want to include your beach gear in the room? This rack holds upright surfboards against a tall brown backing, with skateboards leaning at one side.

The pale yellow board adds a little color beside the white ones. For your own setup, choose a rack designed for the size and weight of your boards.

white beams and a chunky table

Last but definitely not least, we have this white living room with a snowy waterfront view. I love the chunky, irregular coffee table beside the simple white seating.

The cream rug has a loose diamond pattern, with patterned pillows on the sofa too. Try a beige fringed throw if you want to add one more detail without introducing another color.
