Looking for spanish bedroom ideas with a little character? Think curved doorways, dark ceiling beams and pretty patterned bedding.
These rooms include simple cream-and-white combinations plus colorful spaces with carved furniture and plenty of little details worth saving.
You can keep things simple or go all out. Start with a bedside lamp and a few pillows, or take inspiration from the bigger architectural details if you’re planning a bedroom renovation.
Spanish Bedroom Ideas Worth Saving
arched windows and tall palms
We’re starting off strong with these gorgeous arches behind the bed. I love how the middle window sits higher than the others.
The white bedding and tall palms look so pretty beneath that beamed ceiling.
If you want to borrow a smaller detail, try a patterned rug in pale pink, blue and cream.

rust-colored floors and cream curtains
If you are looking for something simple, this one is for you. White bedding, long cream curtains and black-framed doors leave plenty of room for those rust-colored floor squares to stand out.
Keep your bedside accessories to a minimum if you want to follow this look. The little dark wall lights are worth saving too.
a tall arch and hanging lights
How pretty is this arched window? The black grid frame is such a lovely detail beside all that white bedding.
I especially love the two oval hanging lights at different heights.
Try a large botanical print above your bed if you want to bring some of those leafy shapes indoors.
scrollwork and olive green
I am obsessed with this bed frame. The little curls along the headboard and footboard are so pretty with the olive-green curtains.
For a similar color combination, add a green throw over pale bedding. Keep a few small patterned pillows if you like the extra detail here.
brown pillows and cream layers
Don’t want to go all out with patterns? No problem!
Try this cream bed with oversized brown pillows and a pale fringed throw. I love the little chair beside the window with its black-and-cream cushion.
a carved headboard and bright pillow
This headboard may just be one of my favorites here. The dark carved curls look gorgeous against the plain wall, especially with matching lights on either side.
You don’t need lots of color to follow this room. Start with white bedding, then add one bright patterned pillow in the middle.
ornate carving and open arches
If you are looking for a true eye-catcher, then this bed is for you. There’s so much detail along the headboard, footboard and sides that the plain beige bedding feels like just enough.
I love the tall arches opening onto greenery. The dark ceiling and candle-style wall lights make this room especially dramatic.
a peach-colored sleeping nook
How cute is this little bed nook? The large arch wraps around peach-colored bedding, with two round reading lights above the pillows.
Try a dark blue accent pillow if you want to copy this color pairing. That one darker touch is my favorite part.
ochre bedding and long curtains
I love this ochre throw with the matching pillows. The cream curtains hang between tall black-framed doors, with sunlight falling across the bed.
For your own version, let the throw fall loosely over the side rather than folding it into a narrow strip.
red accents and a curved headboard
This is actually one of my favorite color combinations here. The muted red pillows and patterned throw look so pretty against the pale curved headboard.
A narrow dark bench sits at the foot of the bed with two rounded cushions on top. Try a similar bench if you have enough space to walk around it.
tiny florals and ruffled edges
The floral fans are going to love this! Little white flowers cover the beige bedding, with ruffled white edges around the pillows and bedspread.
If you want a more romantic detail for your spanish bedroom, this is a lovely place to start. I’d keep the wall above it mostly bare, just like this.
a large trunk at the foot
Don’t want a bench at the end of your bed? Try a large trunk instead. This one has dark bands, a prominent lock and a worn brown finish.
The white bedding stays simple with a narrow patterned runner. I love the little basket tucked beside the trunk too.
a canopy and ornate dressing table
There is so much to love in this corner. The tall mirror has a decorative carved top, while white canopy curtains frame the bed beside it.
My favorite detail is the small stool tucked beneath the dressing table. If you already have an ornate piece like this, try pale bedding rather than adding more bold colors.

pale beams and arched shutters
If you’re looking for a room that keeps the decorations simple, save this one. Pale ceiling beams, arched gray shutters and white bedding do most of the work.
The small framed portrait above the chair is such a lovely touch. You don’t have to fill every wall.
a dark carved wardrobe
This wardrobe is too pretty not to notice. I love the repeated carved squares and little gold-colored fittings against the dark brown doors.
The pale bedside lamp and blue-green patterned bedding keep the surrounding corner lighter. Try that pairing if you have a large dark cabinet in your room.
bright patterns and a bedside cactus
Want to go all out with color? This one is for you.
Orange, pink and dark blue pillows sit above a mix of colorful throws, with another bold pattern on the rug.
I especially love the cactus beside the bed. Start with a patterned pillow and a bright throw if you want a smaller version of this look.
colorful stripes and a shaped doorway
How cute is this striped rug? There’s red, yellow, purple and green running across the floor, with black-and-white checks showing around the edges.
The shaped doorway and decorative hanging light are gorgeous too. Keep your bedding plain white if you want to try several patterns elsewhere, like this room does.
leaf pillows beneath a curved ceiling
This is another pale bedroom, but it has a few lovely details of its own. I love the little leaf patterns on the pillows and the rust-colored throw folded across the foot.
The curved ceiling is beautiful above it all. A similar pillow-and-throw pairing would work even without the arch.
a scalloped lamp and white flowers
Don’t want to change your whole room? Start with the bedside table.
This dark brown one holds a lamp with a scalloped shade and a clear vase of white flowers.
I love the pale floral pillow beside it. Try that small combination if you want to add a pretty detail without adding lots of decor.
devotional art and deep red details
Last but definitely not least, we have this richly decorated corner. Framed devotional images, religious figures and a red crucifix surround the dark carved shelves.
The deep red drape has a gorgeous tasseled edge.
If devotional art is meaningful to you, try grouping your own pieces in one corner. Keep the arrangement personal rather than copying every object.
