Looking for a rosh hashanah table with pretty little details? Start with apples, pomegranate place cards or a row of flowers down the middle.

There’s plenty to work with here, from simple white plates to colorful outdoor settings.

You can keep things simple or go all out. A few selected photos show other holidays rather than Rosh Hashanah, so those are called out below instead of treating every decoration as a match.

Table settings and details to inspire your celebration

apples and golden candle cups

We’re starting off with this pretty apple arrangement. I love the red and yellow fruit tucked between broad green leaves.

The speckled gold-colored candle cups add a little shine.

For your own version, spread the apples along a narrow tray and tuck cinnamon sticks between them. Choose flameless candles if you’re keeping the leaves close to the holders.

burgundy bows and greenery

How pretty are those burgundy bows? They match the tall candles, with white plates and gold-colored flatware keeping the place settings simple.

The evergreen branches and red berries give this photo a Christmas-style look rather than a distinctly Rosh Hashanah setting. If you borrow the bow idea, try leafy branches and pomegranates instead of this garland.

pomegranate place cards

This may just be one of my favorite little details here. Each pomegranate has a pale ribbon tied around it, with a name tag hanging from the bow.

Set yours on a folded napkin like this. The fruit gives an otherwise pale place setting such a lovely bit of red.

green napkins and colorful plates

If you love a table with lots of color, this one is for you. Bright green napkins sit beneath patterned plates, with apples and shiny pomegranate ornaments down the middle.

I especially love the small portions of pomegranate seeds at each setting. For a similar long table, repeat little flower arrangements rather than using one huge centerpiece.

honey jars and bee favors

How cute are these little bee boxes? White bows sit on top of the yellow favors while jars with yellow lids fill the raised stands behind them.

This is a separate bee-themed favor display, not a dinner place setting. You could borrow the honey-jar idea for a side table at your celebration and choose your own holiday greeting for the tags.

pumpkins and tan flowers

The tall tan arrangement and orange pumpkins make this an autumn display, but the jack-o’-lantern clearly brings in Halloween. This image needs a replacement before it belongs in a Rosh Hashanah-specific article.

If you like the tray arrangement, a separate variation could use apples beside a vase of tan flowers. That would be a new design, not what’s pictured here.

apples and tiny white flowers

I am obsessed with the little white flowers around these apples. The branches stretch past the edges of the rectangular tray, with pink-and-yellow fruit gathered near the middle.

Try this low arrangement if you don’t want a tall vase in the center of your table. Leave a few leafy stems trailing over the ends.

blue flowers all the way down

If you want to go all out with flowers, then this one is for you. Blue and white flower clusters run down the whole table, beside blue napkins and ribbed blue glasses.

I love the little place cards sitting in short round holders. For a smaller version, try just a few low clusters with the same blue-and-white colors.

burgundy menu card

The cream background and burgundy lettering are so pretty together. A rounded border frames the menu, with an illustrated bow near the bottom.

This particular card has snowy scenery and a Christmas-style menu, so it needs replacing for this article. You could keep the color pairing in a new design with pomegranate illustrations and the dishes you’re actually serving.

a sweet year banner

Don’t want to put all your decorations on the table? No problem!

This pointed banner has a large illustrated pomegranate and the words “A Good And Sweet Year.”

Hang a similar greeting near your dining area if you want to leave more room on the table for serving dishes.

honey tasting place settings

This is such a lovely way to make the place settings part of the celebration. Little tasting cups sit across sheets marked “Honey Tasting,” with a pencil at each place.

The gold-colored chargers, clustered flowers and round braided loaves make the table feel dressed up without hiding the food. I especially love those small bear-shaped jars beside the glasses.

pomegranates and floral candles

These floral candles may just be my favorite detail here. The little red flowers look so pretty beside the plain white tapers and deep red pomegranates.

Whole and halved fruit sit in shallow brown bowls along the table. If you try a similar arrangement, keep the greenery well clear of any flames.

gold-colored tassel rings

Want a little shine without adding more centerpiece decorations? These gold-colored napkin rings have twisted loops and flared tassel-shaped ends.

I love them against the pale blue and cream scalloped edges. You could carry that same pairing into your napkins and placemats.

pinecones and white plates

White plate stacks and tall cream candles keep this table simple, but the pinecones, baubles and decorated evergreen mantel clearly point to Christmas. This photo needs a holiday-appropriate replacement.

For a separate Rosh Hashanah variation, you could keep the white plates and pale runner, then use apples and leafy branches instead of the Christmas decorations.

orange fruit and blue flowers

How gorgeous is this color combination? Small orange fruits sit among blue flower spikes, large white blooms and dark green leaves.

This arrangement is shown on a kitchen island rather than a dining table. I’d borrow it for a sideboard so those tall branches don’t sit between people across the table.

a ring of seeded rolls

Who says the food can’t be part of the table decoration? These golden-brown rolls form a ring around a speckled lidded pot, with sesame seeds scattered over the tops.

For a similar serving idea, arrange your rolls around a small honey pot. There’s no need to add flowers to every platter.

apple cups and sliced fruit

How cute is this serving idea? Hollowed apples hold an amber-colored dip, with slices piled all around them on the platters.

You could use honey in your own apple cups for an apples-and-honey presentation. Repeat smaller platters along a long table rather than putting everything at one end.

green sprigs and an ivory bow

Don’t want to go overboard with the place settings? No problem!

A green sprig bundle and an ivory bow sit beside the flatware on this white plate.

The curled ends of the utensils are such a pretty extra detail. Try a similar ribbon-tied sprig with the plain plates you already have.

pomegranate branches and dark plates

I love this long pomegranate arrangement against the pale runner. The fruit ranges from yellow-green to deep red, with slender branches spreading out on both sides.

Dark plates and little checked napkins make this look different from the mostly white settings above. Keep the fruit arrangement loose if you want to follow this photo.

red roses and fruit

Last but definitely not least, we have red roses, pink tulips and clusters of grapes down a white-covered table. The halved pomegranates are especially pretty beside the slim flower vases.

The image is labeled as a Thanksgiving setting, not Rosh Hashanah. Its fruit-and-flower combination could inspire a separate holiday table, with more space between the leaves and lit candles.
