Looking for a valentines day breakfast with a little something extra? Heart-shaped toast, pink icing and berry-covered waffles give you plenty to choose from.

There are savory plates here too if you'd rather start your morning with eggs than chocolate.

You can keep it simple or go all out. Pick a pretty fruit plate, put together a breakfast tray or bring out the heart-shaped waffles.

I especially love the ideas that let the strawberries do most of the decorating.

Valentine's Day Breakfast Ideas Worth Saving

heart toast and strawberries

We're starting off strong with this gorgeous heart-shaped French toast. I love the powdered sugar over those golden tops.

The strawberries and big swirl of whipped cream make the plate look even sweeter.

For a similar arrangement, place your toast hearts around the berries with the cream toward the back.

little waffles and chocolate dip

How cute are these little heart waffles? The chocolate-colored dip has its own strawberry heart on top, plus there are dipped strawberries beside the plate.

If you want to go a step further, try a white drizzle and tiny pink heart decorations on your own dipped berries.

colorful egg hearts

If you're looking for a savory breakfast idea, this one is for you. These heart-shaped egg bites have leafy greens and little red pieces showing throughout, with lightly browned tops.

Serve yours on a plain white platter like this so the cute shapes stay easy to see.

red pancakes with all the toppings

I am obsessed with this red pancake stack. It's so fun, plus those tiny heart sprinkles are adorable.

The whipped topping, strawberries and raspberries are piled high with dark sauce running down the sides. You could try a shorter stack with the same decorations if this feels like a little too much for your plate.

roses and a breakfast tray

Don't want to make everything heart-shaped? No problem!

This white tray pairs raspberry-topped toast with a foamy drink and deep red roses. I love the little scalloped plate.

For your own breakfast-in-bed setup, I'd keep the flowers and swap the lit candle for a battery-operated one.

strawberry parfait cups

This is such a pretty way to serve a layered breakfast. The clear cups show off white creamy layers, sliced strawberries and scattered oat flakes.

Try your favorite yogurt with berries and granola for a similar look. Keep a few strawberry slices for the top rather than hiding them all inside.

heart-shaped swirls

How adorable are these swirled dough hearts? The two curled ends make the top of each heart, with a little point underneath.

Save this as a shaping idea for your next batch of cinnamon rolls. These are shown on the baking sheet before baking, so use your chosen recipe for the actual baking directions.

strawberry-filled french toast

This French toast may just be one of my favorites here. I love how the cut edges show the pale filling and little strawberry pieces inside.

The sliced berries and powdered sugar are just as pretty on top. Cut your filled toast into triangles if you want to show off the middle like this.

jam toast hearts

Don't want to go all out and want something super simple? This heart-shaped toast with red jam is for you.

The patterned plate makes even this little breakfast look special.

Try a heart cutter on your bread before toasting, then add your favorite jam.

bright pink smoothie bowl

I am obsessed with the pink in this bowl. The curved row of banana slices and frosty-looking raspberries are so pretty together.

For a similar finish on your own smoothie bowl, arrange banana along one side and scatter coconut flakes over the other. You don't need heart shapes when the color already fits the occasion this well.

pink-drizzled doughnuts

The pink drizzle is my favorite part of these heart-shaped doughnuts. It falls in little stripes over the sugar-coated tops, with some of the coating still showing through.

Try this decorating idea on your own doughnuts if you want a touch of pink rather than a full layer of icing.

a waffle breakfast board

If you are looking for a breakfast with lots to choose from, then this one is for you. There's a line of little waffles across the middle, plus bacon, powdered doughnuts and colorful fruit.

I love the red heart bowls at either end. Use bowls like these to keep your spreads and sauces separate from the rest of the board.

waffle hearts with sprinkles

OMG, how cute are these waffle sandwiches? The white piped filling peeks out between the hearts, with another swirl on top.

The red, white and pink sprinkles tie everything together. If you're trying this presentation, I'd keep the sprinkles on top so those little hearts are easy to see.

strawberry croissant sandwiches

Who says you need heart-shaped food for Valentine's Day? These split croissants have strawberry slices tucked beneath a generous layer of light brown filling.

I especially love the thin dark drizzle over the powdered sugar. For your own version, you could pair the berries with a chocolate cream filling.

golden egg bites

Here is another savory heart idea, but the tops look a little different from the earlier ones. These egg bites have rounded, uneven tops with golden patches and green and red pieces throughout.

I'd pair them with a small bowl of fruit if you want both sweet and savory on your breakfast table.

raspberry breakfast jars

I love the bright red layer running through these breakfast jars. The pale oat mixture has tiny dark seeds throughout, with raspberries and sliced nuts on top.

Try serving your favorite overnight oats in clear jars with a raspberry layer in the middle. That little stripe is worth showing off.

matching heart breakfast boards

This is actually one of my favorite ways to bring hearts into a savory breakfast. The matching boards hold eggs, cucumber slices, tomatoes and bread, with little bowls and jars tucked beside them.

You don't have to change the shape of every ingredient. Let the boards do that part, then arrange your usual breakfast favorites on top.

pink-iced cinnamon rolls

How pretty is this tray of cinnamon rolls? Not gonna lie, the pale pink icing is my favorite detail!

The swirls still show through, with pink and white sprinkles scattered across the top.

Try the same decorating idea on your favorite rolls. There's no need to reshape them into hearts.

berry-covered toast hearts

I know the first heart toast plate was gorgeous, but this one is a close second. Mostly because the strawberries, blueberries and raspberries look so pretty around those browned hearts.

Each piece has its own little white swirl on top. Keep that detail if you'd rather decorate the toast itself than add one large dollop beside it.

colorful fruit heart skewers

Last but definitely not least, we have these adorable fruit skewers. I love the green kiwi hearts beside the pink watermelon and pale fruit pieces.

The blueberries sit between the larger shapes. Try alternating colors in the same way, then lay your finished skewers across a plain platter.
