20+ Easy Food Ideas That Save Hours Every Week

Skip the intro · jump to the list ↓

Summer is quickly approaching, you guys! My kitchen turns into a snack factory every single weekend.

One of my favorite things about warm weather, besides the lattes turning into iced ones, is that nobody wants a complicated dinner anymore. My neighbors host a backyard movie night every June and everyone brings one dish to share.

Last year three of us showed up with basically the same fruit tray and we all had a good laugh about it, lol!

Since easy food ideas are basically a year round need, I’ve gathered 20 adorable ones the entire family will love.

Don’t fret if you’ve never hosted anything before. I used to struggle putting together anything that looked halfway put together, haha!

From fruit skewers to sliders and deviled eggs, there’s at least one idea here you’ll make on repeat. Under each one I’ve added the little details you actually want to know, plus a link to the full recipe.

EASY FOOD IDEAS

1. Watermelon Fruit Pizza Slices

We’re starting off strong with watermelon fruit pizza slices! Round watermelon cut into wedges gets topped like a mini pizza with yogurt and fruit.

  • No oven in July, ever
  • Ready in about ten minutes
  • Kids build their own toppings

2. Rainbow Fruit Skewers

How cute are these rainbow fruit skewers? Every color of the rainbow gets threaded onto one stick.

I never plan the colors, I just grab what’s in the fridge. They look fancy on a platter, but it’s really just cutting fruit and stacking it. Even my picky eater grabs one, haha!

  • Bribery via bright colors
  • A dozen skewers from one bowl of fruit
  • No cooking whatsoever

3. Mini Pancake Skewer Stack
