Looking for romantic hotels in texas with a little something extra? A candlelit bath, a skyline terrace or a cottage tucked among trees gives you plenty to dream about.
These pictures range from hotel-style rooms to more unusual getaway settings.
You can keep things simple or choose something a little different. Use these images as inspiration rather than a verified hotel directory: property names, locations and booking details aren't supplied, so confirm those before planning your stay.
Romantic getaway settings worth saving
an arched pool room
We’re starting off strong with this gorgeous little pool beneath a wide stone arch. I love the two covered treatment tables beside the windows.
The view beyond them gives you something lovely to look at too.

If a spa visit is on your wish list, ask whether a couples treatment and pool access can be booked together.
riverside tables and blue umbrellas
How pretty is this riverside setting? The blue umbrellas sit beneath a row of arches, with glowing lights reflected in the water.
I’d put an outdoor dinner on the wish list for a place like this. Ask about waterside seating rather than assuming every table gets this view.
a cottage among the trees
If you are looking for something smaller in scale, this cottage is lovely inspiration. The steep roof, exposed beams and little glass-paneled door are so cute together.
My favorite part is the planting along the path. Those little pink flowers make the entrance even prettier.
a glowing pool at dusk
I am obsessed with this evening pool scene. The curved water’s edge, palm trees and illuminated windows look so pretty beneath the pink sky.
There’s a covered seating area in the foreground too. I’d leave a little space in the itinerary for an evening outside.
harbor lights after dark
Love being beside the water? This harbor scene gives you a different kind of getaway inspiration, with boats, dockside buildings and long reflections across the surface.

The green-lit building in the distance adds another splash of color. A waterfront view would be the detail I’d look for when comparing rooms.
a white tipi beneath blue skies
Want something a little different from a standard hotel room? This white tipi certainly looks the part, with tall poles extending above its pointed roof.
The picture only shows the outside. Before choosing a stay like this, check the sleeping setup, bathroom arrangements and temperature control.
string lights and a skyline
This terrace may just be one of my favorites here. I love the string lights above the pale seating, plus that illuminated bridge off to the left.
If city views are your thing, save this as your reference. Ask whether the terrace is shared or attached to a particular room.
a candlelit bath in the trees
How gorgeous is this bath? There are bubbles piled high, candles around the curved edge and a hanging chair just beyond the railing.
The leafy view is my favorite part. If you’re booking for a bath like this, confirm what’s included in the setup and whether the space is private.
white bedding and a green accent
Don’t want an elaborate theme and want something simple? This bedroom is lovely inspiration.
The tall black-framed headboard surrounds white panels, with a light on each side.
I love the single dark green cushion against the white bedding. It’s a small detail, but such a pretty one.
a tiny storybook-shaped hideaway
Okay, this little building is adorable. The rounded outline, uneven window shapes and circular window in the door give it a storybook look.
Small lights trace the path toward the entrance. Save this if an unusual exterior matters more to you than the look of a traditional hotel.
a courtyard pool and white loungers
This is another pretty pool setting, but it’s a little different from the one above. I love the white loungers following the curve of the water.
The trees and green-edged umbrellas sit between the pool and the tall building. I’d make room for a poolside afternoon if the weather allows.
blue bedding and light-wood tables
If you like a bedroom without lots of decoration, this one is for you. Dark blue bedding sits against a white bed frame, with light-wood bedside tables on either side.
The striped throw and triangular rug pattern bring in just enough detail. Those little plants on the high windowsill are cute too.
striped awnings and an arched entrance
I love this brick exterior with its black-and-white striped awnings. The tall arched doorway and vertical 1928 sign give you plenty to admire before you even step inside.
If architecture is part of the appeal for you, keep this entrance on your inspiration board. The photograph alone doesn’t establish the building’s age.
a weathered balcony and brick courtyard
This is one of my favorite exteriors on the list. The weathered boards, little upstairs balcony and leafy trees are so pretty together.
There’s a table and chairs in the brick courtyard too. I’d choose a setting like this for its smaller details rather than a big, dramatic entrance.
an outdoor hot tub among trees
Don’t want a big pool and would rather have a hot tub? This outdoor setup is worth saving.
A small step leads up to the tub, with trees filling the background.
Check whether a similar tub is for your room alone or shared with other guests. That’s a detail worth sorting out before you book.
green steps and a screened porch
How lovely is this porch? I am in love with the white decorative railings and green steps.
The huge branches overhead make the whole entrance look even prettier.
If you’re drawn to houses rather than high-rises, this is a gorgeous style to look for.
a black clawfoot tub on the deck
I am obsessed with this little outdoor bath. The black tub has a white interior and gold-colored feet, right beside the large bedroom doors.
The yellow curtain is such a fun touch. If you want a similar setup, ask about screening around the deck rather than judging privacy from one photo.
pool loungers and checked umbrellas
Prefer a livelier pool scene? This picture has people lounging in the shallow water and rows of checked umbrellas along the edge.
I especially love the curved white loungers. This is inspiration for a more social afternoon, not a secluded pool for two.
a pointed window with a wide view
That view is the detail I’d save this for. The tall triangular window looks out across the landscape, with the bed tucked beside it and a pale blue tub outside.
The exposed frame makes the room look so different from a standard suite. Ask for photos of the exact unit if you’re hoping for this kind of outlook.
a turquoise swing and sunset pool
Last but definitely not least, we have this colorful pool courtyard. I love the turquoise swing with its bright pink cushions! There’s a matching chair beside it too.
The red picnic tables add even more color beneath that orange-pink sky. Save this one if your idea of a romantic getaway includes a playful outdoor space rather than a formal terrace.
