Happy party season, you guys! Wedding season is quickly approaching.
One of my favorite things about planning parties, besides the mimosas nobody lets me have before noon, is picking the cake first! Then I build everything else around it. Every detail somehow follows from there.
Four of us spent an entire Saturday sketching cake ideas on napkins at brunch. We never even agreed on one, haha!
Since the celebrations are only a couple of short weeks away for so many of you, I’ve gathered 20 adorable ideas that work for brides, birthdays and everything in between.

It takes some carving skill, so this might be the one to leave to a bakery. Some things are worth outsourcing! Nobody will judge you for it.

This retro lettering cake channels a whole seventies vibe with wavy piped words across the top. The font alone does most of the work here. My piping tips live in a drawer I dig through every time I try this. It’s the kind of detail that photographs better than it sounds, haha!
