Small yards actually have an advantage. Less space means less maintenance and every little upgrade shows up immediately!
Hundreds of pins went into putting this list together and honestly anything that needed a huge budget or a truck full of materials got tossed out. What’s left are ideas that actually work in a real backyard, not just a staged photo.

We’re starting off strong with a gravel patio and fire pit combo. Gravel is forgiving, cheap and drains way better than grass ever will!
