Looking for period kit ideas you can put together your own way? Start with the period products you use, spare underwear and a pouch you actually like.

These pictures include little zip bags, bigger gift boxes and a few general care kits you could adapt.

You can keep things simple or add a few extras. There’s no need to pack every item shown.

Pick what makes sense for your bag, your routine or the person you’re making a kit for.

Period Kits and Pouches Worth Saving

blue patterns and a little handle

We’re starting off strong with this cute blue pouch. I love the dark blue zipper against the repeating fan pattern.

There’s even a matching handle on the side.

Try a bag this shape for your wrapped period supplies, checking the size before you fill it.

a checklist to make your own

Want a period kit ideas list before you start packing? This checklist includes period products, extra underwear, tissues and plenty of optional everyday extras.

Start with your essentials rather than trying to fit everything in. Treat chocolate as a snack, not a cramp remedy. Hand warmers aren’t a substitute for a body-safe heat patch used as directed.

a pink polka-dot supply box

How cute is the pink polka-dot lining? This box has colorful wrapped supplies arranged in rows, with a small zip pouch and snacks tucked beside them.

Borrow the layout for a home stash. Keep any medicines in their labeled packaging rather than mixing loose pills into the box.

pink bows and scalloped trim

I am obsessed with this little pink pouch. The white scalloped trim and tiny bow beside the zipper are so pretty together.

If you want your kit to look a little dressier, try a pouch with details like these. The larger bow at the side is my favorite part.

pink pouch inspiration

If you love pink, there’s plenty to choose from here. The upper collage pairs a pale pink pouch with pads, liners, underwear and beauty extras.

Below it is a smaller spread beside a white-and-pink bag.

Choose the essentials first, then add something like a hairbrush or lip balm if there’s room. You don’t need the whole collage in one pouch!

snacks and a heart-print extra

This is a fun gift-box idea if you want to include more than period supplies. There are pads and tampons alongside popcorn, chocolate bars, drinks and a red-and-pink heart-print item at the back.

I’d borrow the mix of practical supplies and favorite snacks. Keep anything that needs refrigeration separate until you give the gift.

flower clips and pastel choices

The little flower clips are so cute in this collage. There are several pouch options at the top, with period products, tissues, underwear and hair accessories below.

Pick one pouch and work from there. A spare pair of underwear and your usual period products can come first; the colorful clips are just a nice extra.

a first-period zip bag

Don’t want to go all out with a big box? No problem!

This white pouch with pink geometric lines sits beside wrapped supplies, spare underwear, wipes and small bottles.

For a first-period kit, you could also tuck in a short note explaining where to find refills and who to ask for help.

a book and a pink basket

I love the idea of including a book with a first-period gift. Here, The Care & Keeping of You sits behind a box of pads in a pink basket, with snacks and small accessories tucked around them.

Choose an age-appropriate guide for your recipient. A little room for questions matters more than filling every corner.

green wrappers and chocolate

This box may just have one of my favorite color combinations here. The green wrapped pads sit beside a bright pink folded item, with chocolate tucked across the back.

Try arranging your larger supplies first, then slipping the smaller extras into the gaps. Keep snacks in their wrappers.

three tidy compartments

If you’re looking for a home setup without lots of decoration, go with a divided basket like this. Pink packets fill the middle section while white-and-coral supplies line up on the right.

Keep each type together so you can see what needs replacing. Store your basket somewhere clean and dry.

a colorful tea extra

How pretty are these tea packets? The lavender, yellow, pink and green packaging looks lovely beside the pale blue cup.

This picture is tea inspiration rather than a complete period kit. If your recipient enjoys tea, add a sealed sachet as an optional drink, not as a promised treatment for cramps.

open-top care baskets

These are general toiletry baskets rather than dedicated period kits, but the open-top layout is worth borrowing. Tissues, lotion, combs and other packaged items stand upright where you can see them.

Make your version around the recipient’s needs rather than the gender labels shown. You could add a separate section for period products.

snap wings and fan patterns

I am obsessed with the patterns on these reusable pads. The dark green, taupe and pale pink centers look so pretty with the printed wings and little snaps.

If reusable pads are already part of your routine, pack a clean spare with a separate wet bag for used ones. Follow their care instructions.

pink and purple cups

Prefer a cup-based kit? This spread shows pink and purple menstrual cups with a drawstring pouch, a lidded container and labeled care products.

You don’t have to copy every accessory. Build yours around the cup you use and follow its cleaning and storage instructions.

blue-lidded care packages

These matching blue-lidded bottles hold general care-package items, not a visible set of period supplies. I like how they’re lined up ready to hand out.

For a period-supply donation, check the organization’s requested items and packaging first. A separate pouch may make more sense than fitting everything inside a bottle.

gingham and tiny cherries

How adorable are these little checked pouches? The open pink one has wrapped pads standing in a neat row.

Red, green, blue and black versions sit behind it.

The tiny cherry print is my favorite detail. Pick your favorite color and check that your usual pads fit before choosing one.

pink socks and a snack tray

This is another gift idea that goes all out with the extras. Pink heart socks, popcorn, chocolate and small pouches sit together in a shallow tray.

Borrow the socks-and-snacks idea if it suits your recipient. You can leave out the intimate washes and wipes shown; they aren’t required for a period kit.

a sports-bag starting point

Need a kit to keep with your workout things? This sports collage shows a drawstring bag, water bottle, spare clothing, hair accessories and bandages, but no visible period products.

Add a separate little pouch with your preferred supplies and spare underwear. That way, you won’t have to search through shoes and clothes to find them.

spare underwear in pretty colors

Last but definitely not least, we have these pretty underwear options. I love the mint green and pale pink beside the dark floral pair.

Pack a clean spare in a separate pouch, plus a bag for any used clothing. If you want period underwear specifically, check the product details rather than relying on how it looks.
